RECOGNIZE HEADSHIP (2)

TOPIC: RECOGNIZE HEADSHIP (2)
TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 3:1-19

Samuel was so lucky that Eli feared the Lord, he did not understand how to hear God, he ran to Eli and Eli the chief priest was sleeping inside the temple, God bypass him to call unto Samuel, a small boy at the time. Eli knew what he could do to truncate the plan of God for Samuel’s life but he was good to him. Remember, Eli had lost the priesthood, but Samuel still called him, my father. Are you the type that runs people who had helped you down? There are so many people like that, in a group, in the meeting, they would not talk but you can never imagine where they have broadcast group head and leadership style to. When the devil contended Moses’ body with Angel Michael, the Angel did not fight him, he recognized hierarchy, he only said, the Lord rebuke him (Jude 1:9).

Next time, before you talk to somebody older than you in age, in experience, think before you talk or abuse him. If not, such is only inviting the wrath of God. There are some people who you should not forget or run down in this life as Christians, they are but not limited to: a) your parents; b) the person that led you to Christ; b) the wo(man) that groomed you in ministry; c) the person that mentor you in business or guide your career; d) those that believe in you and support you financially, physically, morally and spiritually when you are nothing or you do not believe in yourself; e) people that are supporting you presently, among others.

Jesus was born a Saviour and Lord but when He wanted to be baptized He went to John the Baptist and the later forbad him, saying, “I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?” but Jesus answered and said, “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness”. Jesus recognized authority and people ahead of Him; He humbled Himself to be baptized by the person whom He knew to be the least of all prophets. Jesus’ empowerment did not come until he came out of the baptism of John, it was thereafter the Power from on high came on Him and was announced to the world (Matthew 3:13-17). Are you being stagnated and yearning for promotion? Desist from castigating your master; this may be anybody in your association, group or organization.

Elisha got double portion of anointing and power because he followed Elijah very closely; when the sons of the prophets came to tell him about his master, he shut them up. He got the mantle and the same sons of the prophets came to bow to him. Learn to be humble. Do you enjoy deepened divisions among God’s people and hindered the reconciling work to which the man of God is so deeply committed? You must repent today and reconcile with your master. You don’t need to fight needless conflict. If you despise someone with whom God has made you one, you despise yourself. And, if you hate them, you hate yourself. If you hurt them, you hurt yourself. And, if you destroy them, you will destroy yourself.

Word Affirmation: And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee - Deuteronomy 28:11 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“If you despise someone with whom God has made you one, you despise yourself.”
