There is a time to open up; there is a time to hide. There is a time to be in the secret place, God in the Old Testament created a place for the Israelites in case of wrong doing that they can flee into to protect themselves, there are cities dedicated for such purposes which also served as places of refuge (Exodus 21:13; Deut. 4:42; 19). There is a place that you can run to though your sins be as scarlet, it is the name of the LORD. Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe”. God has giving us a name today which is above every other name, at the name of Jesus every knee must bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of God the Father. If you are still living in sin, you have no choice but to run to Jesus today in order to be saved from the peril that comes. As many that received Him to them He gave the power to become the sons and daughters of God. If you are yet to receive Christ, today is the day that you must flee your lust and run to your Messiah, He is waiting, knocking at the door of your heart.

My dearly beloved, the Bible also warned to flee from idolatry (1Corinthians 10:14), you do not wait to observe the behaviours of the idolaters, you will surely become like them. When the Israelites mingled with the nations around them who served other gods, they behaved like them and God destroyed them likewise. It is impossible for you to observe the behaviour of an idolater and wanting to become like Christ. You don’t have to wait in their place, the Bible says, flee.

Paul warned Timothy to flee also the love for money (not money), but the love of it. In 1 Timothy 6:11, he said, “But thou, O man of God, flee these things (see verse 1-10); and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. He also warned him to flee youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Above all, James warned his readers to submit themselves unto God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. As believers, we must refuse to go along with the devil in whatever guise, where necessary rebuke him and he will flee from you otherwise, be the one to flee from his gimmicks. He, the devil deceived the first woman, Eve and the world is paying the price today; what if Eve ran away that day, our world who have been smooth today. Likewise, in order to escape the wrath of God which is to come, flee from Satan, from idols and idolatry, flee from fornication, from youthful lusts and sins that easily besets us. See you in glory.

Word Affirmation: “Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me." – Psalm 143:9 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“It is impossible for you to observe the behaviour of an idolater and wanting to become like Christ. You don’t have to wait in their place, the Bible says, flee."
