FLEE (1)

You do not have power over all situations, there are some circumstances that require your command, some requires demonstration of courage and some require you taking a flight from such location. It is important to know when to stay to confront a battle and when to run away from such. You don’t need to conquer all battles to become a champion, there are some you leave to fight another day. There are some people who claimed holiness and stubbornness in the face of sins, but such eventually became casualties because they believe speaking in tongues or their wisdom will make them to overcome, beloved there are some avoidable wars. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 says, “Abstain (stay away, avoid, don’t have anything to do, flee) from all appearance of evil”. The time to flee is not the time to stay.

There are some wickedness or evil orchestrations that you shouldn’t withstand, you might want to confront a battle or situation and you do not have necessary weapons to withstand it; for this reason, stay away till you have all the necessary ammunition. In the pages of the Bible, God urges us to flee from certain issues. In Genesis 39, no amount of persuasion from Joseph could dissolve the evil intention and desperation of Potiphar’s wife, and Joseph looked at some of his arsenal, the best weapon he could lay his hands on was flee strategy.

In Matthew 2:13, God warned Joseph to take Baby Jesus and flee from Bethlehem, God is all-powerful, the Almighty, He has the power to protect His Child but told Joseph not to wait; meaning, this battle did not require speaking in tongues, but fleeing strategy. Many Christians have become casualties in the battles they supposed to act as spectators, not all battles require your prayers, and there are some that requires just your silence. Stop dignifies your enemy with response; at some points in your life, there is need for you to write this inscription on your forehead to avoid some unnecessary battles: “KEEP SILENCE, MEETING IN PROGRESS”.

Matthew 10:23 says, “But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another...” When you are being persecuted Jesus did not say defend yourself, He said, flee INTO another. You shouldn’t be providing an answer to every conversation around, after all a clock that is not working is twice correct in a day. You don’t have to stay in a toxic environment, when a relationship is turning against your faith or belief, Jesus said, flee.

There is one more flee strategy that you need to perform, it is flee fornication – 1 Corinthians 6:18. You are warned to run, stay away, avoid it by all means, take flight whether it is convenient for you or not. The man that successful win the war against fornication had to flee, but a mighty man of valour, a man after God’s heart who thought he could win the war against fornication lived thereafter to regret it. His son, Solomon after he had tasted about one thousand wives and concubines came to this conclusion; he called it, vanity upon vanity. Apostle Paul warned, he said flee. Therefore, beloved, don’t discolour your future by thinking you can manage fornication or find your way around it, ask David.
