WHERE ARE YOU GOING? (2)

WHERE ARE YOU GOING? (2)

1. Hagar ran away from her mistress – many people today are painfully enjoying the reward for lack of patience and pride which made them to leave their master in haste. Many businesses and ministries would have blossom if they did not leave their master untimely. Many young people would have been the best the world have seen if they did not drop out or quit early enough. A two or three year skill acquisition or apprenticeship program is NOT too much if you know where you are going. Alas! You see young (wo)men demonstrating foolishness, not well cooked in the vocation and profession they chose. So was the person of Hagar whom her mistress loved so much, even trust with her matrimonial bed. Have you ever seen a woman who trusts her friends with her husband? Never! But Sarah did with Hagar, but Hagar failed her lesson, she ran away. There is no pleasure without pressure, but many are looking for shortcut today to attain greatness. There is time for everything and if one come before his time, he will disappear before his time. Take necessary and needed lessons while it is day, a time/night is coming, if one fails to pick up valuable lessons now, such will look for same opportunity with tears and not find. Be wise!

2. Why are you here? Have you ever asked yourself, why am I here? Or why am I like this? Where you are now, is it by divine leading or you just decided it on your own? If where you are presently is NOT by God’s leading, you will soon pay dearly for it. The office you are working in, the house you are living or the business you are doing, if it is not by God, it is suffering and hardship waiting in disguise. When next you see Brother Jacob (of Genesis), ask him the consequence of not be where God want one to be. You must know the reason why you are where you are. Hagar couldn’t explain. The Angel asked, where are you coming from and where are you going? She couldn’t answer. Many are failing this same test today.

Some years ago when I shepherd a new branch of our church in Ibadan, one day, a woman came to me and this she did regularly for prayers. On this particular day, she came and said, “Pastor, I had gotten a place for my business. I am now selling fried yam, soft drinks and pure water, come and pray for me.” Immediately, I carried my bell and Bible journeyed to her shop, on getting there, I noticed that somebody is already selling fried yam and bean cake beside her. I prayed for her and left.

It was not too long that she came again, this time, she said, Pastor, please pray for me, there is no sales. I’m suffering; there is nothing to eat at home. There and then, I asked her, who told you to start the business you are doing? Did you know that somebody is doing the same business you ventured into before you rented the shop? She said, I realized the woman was making profit from the business and I said, let me do it too. I told her, I know, that woman will deal with you, with whatsoever she has. It was not God that led you into the business, so whatever you experienced from such ignorance, bear it. I told her, go and look for another place to sell your yam or stop selling fried yam, be selling only soft drinks and water to complement the woman’s business, add snacks to yours and you will see changes. You don’t need any prayer, what you need is wisdom and direction. That was the end of her battle and struggle. See you tomorrow, for the matter of direction in life is a serious one.

Word Affirmation: Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace - Psalm 37:3 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“There is time for everything and if you come before your time, you will disappear before your time.”
