WHAT CAN YOU FALL BACK ON?

WHAT CAN YOU FALL BACK ON?

If you are no longer doing what you are doing now, what else will you be doing? If your service is no longer needed in that your office, what are you going to fall back on? God forbid! If that appointment is terminated, do you have ‘shock absorber’, do you have other means? You do not need to enjoy the benefits of an office alone, you need to know and understand the operations of that office too. Whatever you learn on the job is yours to take home. You do not need to have a year experience, you need 365 days experience to stay in that your business or office. What can you do apart from what you are doing? You cannot be running a business for years without taking time and effort to also register it. Know the ‘in and out’ of the business, work or job you are doing, anything can happen and in other not to regret at the end, put your mind unto whatever you are doing now.

Let us borrow a good part from what Peter did in John 21, he had stayed with the Master for three and half years and suddenly their Master was crucified. Having not known what to do, Peter beckoned unto other disciples; “I go a fishing”, for he was once a fisherman. An African Proverb says, “If you cannot go forward, at least you can reverse back to where you are coming from”. No last thing, that’s why when you are in your plenteous season, you should try to save and it is not just money; you can save experience too, register your company and keep the certificate, if there is an opportunity for training programmes both home and abroad, try as much as possible to partake. If there is no scholarship to attend, you can sponsor yourself or seek help, you will need such experience at a later time. After retirement or sudden termination, you can start a consultancy firm or apply to a bigger job.

Jacob exclaimed, when would I provide for my own house? The answer is now! Now is the best time to make all the provision. King Solomon advise us to go to the ants and learn, ants prepare their foods in the summer because a time comes when they cannot do that; therefore they keep stock of their foods in time and have something to fall back on. A story was told of a man who came to a particular city with nothing and after several attempts in business and with God’s help made several millions of naira but did not spend it wisely. He rented a big apartment the city centre, bought exotic cars, lavishly spent the money on girlfriends and at some points could not afford to pay his house rent. He did not buy a plot of land when all was well with him, he had to sell the cars, pack his things and family and move to a lower setting within the same city. Do not be like him, spend wisely this year.

Are you a student and you think today’s word does not concern you? Hear me, you are more concern, face your studies squarely. Read and study very well, in the world of administration, management, science and technology, they still need brilliant people, paper qualification is still relevant, don’t be deceived. If you do not study well in school, after graduation, when you are looking for job, it will seem the job market is not in your favour. There are even several opportunities you can get apart from getting a job; we are in a world of unlimited possibilities and opportunities. Get skills and above all, get good characters. Beloved, if all fails you, good characters will not. You have something unique and special that you can rely on and can also lift you in life. Check it and improve on it, I see you over the top. All the Jesus’ disciples were professionals and men of skills; do not use Christianity to cover up what you must do. Be responsible now and always.

Word Affirmation: “And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find." - John 21:6 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“Get skills and above all, get good characters; if all fails, good characters will not."
