LIVING IN ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES (3)
Achieving possibilities is NOT the ultimate, becoming it is the real thing; receiving Jesus is one thing, becoming like Him is not a small task. You don’t wake up into possibilities; you plan, seek and long for it. We have considered the first three letters (POS), let’s look at the fourth letter.
The fourth letter is another S which stands for STRATEGY. You need tact, courage and calculated risk to achieve the impossible. When the Angel of God spoke to Gideon, he did not solely rely on the assurance; he put his arsenal into work. You cannot claim the Word of God and refuse to work, you must not just be ready, you must actively involve in doing what you believe. You must sit down and plan how to achieve the possibility you have conceived.
Gideon first built an Altar unto God and called it JEHOVAH SHALOM; he took all hindrances out of the way, the idols in his heart and his father’s house. He also called on his servants and the entire Israel unto himself; he already knew what and how to go about winning the war. There are some things that you need to achieve, but required skills, stakeholders and serious thinking. One thing that impossibility comes to always do is to teach you lessons and leave an everlasting experience with you. Jesus said, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” – Luke 14:28.
Strategic decision is also needed, you need to know your winning aspiration, where you want to be, how you will win, capability that you need and putting a system of search, research and analysis in place. Joshua designed series of plan to defeat the Israelite’s enemies, dividing his troops into different segment. Do you need money, what are you selling to get the money? Or what skill do you have to trade for the money? Jesus relied on the expertise of Peter to get a fish with coin in it mouth. What and who are you relying on to achieve your goal? Do you have God, people and skill to achieve your aim?
Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, our inner critic keeps us from realizing our greatest potential – and thus holds us back which limits our options, stifles creativity and prevents us from seeing the entire spectrum of nuanced alternatives that exists between the obvious extremes. Make the following as part of your strategic plan for possibilities:
Banish fear – this is the most important step because this is a distortion that can stop you from achieving the impossible. It creates black and white thinking and when we let it take over, we become reactive and emotional instead of creative and practical.
Determine your outcome – when the stakes are high, you need to spend some time on preparation. Think creatively about the outcome you are looking for, focusing strictly on your ideal end result as opposed to how you will achieve it. Be specific and keep it simple.
Respond to your constraints – think about hindrances you might face and deal with it accurately.
Word Affirmation: Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion (ME): for the time to favour ME, yea, the set time, is come - Psa 102:13 (Don't just say it, mean it!)
“You don’t wake up into possibilities; you plan, seek and long for it.”
