DILLIGENT IN BUSINESS

For every organization you work with, the knowledge and experience gained are yours to take home, but a lot of people put their mind alone on take home (salary). In my more than two decades experience in the world of works, it is integrity that keeps people on the job and being industrious moves one ahead. I have not seen any institution that sacked their employees who acted diligently. Many have begged for jobs, but have ruined the same organizations through their lackadaisical attitudes. Oh! They are not paying me well, I can’t die for another man’s job, I don’t think I can continue on this job; while I appreciate a good remuneration, you must still work for the money you received from the job. And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? - Luke16:12. Some will receive salary they do not work for, especially those in the public sector and I wonder if they do have conscience. Do not join them, whatsoever a man so, he shall reap (Galatians 6:7).

Joseph was sold into the house of Potiphar, an Egyptian as a slave, he did not say because he was sold unjustly and also, there was no salary for him at the end of the month, he would not do his jobs. No! Instead, he was good at it and diligent to the extent that his master handed over his entire life to him. He knew where his master has properties and where he kept his moneys. Proverbs 22:29 make us to understand that a diligent man will never stand in the presence of mean men, but in the presence of the king. Are you a diligent person? How do you handle your work? Are you part of the people that do high service? Do your job with all sincerity and do not betray the trust committed into your care. Remember, hardwork wearies hard life. Do your jobs without looking at others, your company pay your salary no matter how little; it takes God to pay your wages.

A diligent man, in the business of his calling, be it what it will, whether for himself or his master; constant in it, swift, ready, and expeditious at it; who industriously pursues it, cheerfully attends it, makes quick dispatch of it; does it off of hand, at once, and is not slothful in it, nor weary of it; when you have observed and taken notice of such a man, which is not very common, you may, without a spirit of prophecy, foresee that such a man will rise in the world. Such a man shall not continue in the service of dishonourable persons; as Joseph, who was industrious and diligent in his business in Potiphar's house, was in process of time advanced, and stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt, Genesis 39:4.

This may be spiritually applied. Every good man has a work or business to do in a religious way; some in a higher sphere, as ministers and pastors; ministers that are diligent in teaching and ruling; and faithful Christians, who are steadfast and immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord shall not be company for the sons of darkness, unregenerate men; they shall be admitted into the presence of the King of kings, have communion with Him; and shall stand before Him at the Great Day with confidence, and not be ashamed; shall stand at His right hand, and shall be forever with Him. Which one do you want, God recommendation or condemnation?
