TOPIC: CAN YOU PROFESS TO BE A CHRISTIAN IN ANY SITUATION (2)?
TEXT: ACTS 11:19-26
MEMORY VERSE: "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves
with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch"
- Acts 11:26
If men could follow the Lord Jesus under an Augustus, a Tiberias, a Caligula, a Claudius, a Nero, a Vespasian, a Titus, a Domitian, or a Hadrian, Christians can be Christians anywhere. If Christians could be Christians in Pergamos, Ephesus, Corinth, or Athens, you can be a Christian under any circumstance. The Lord, therefore, has let us know assuredly, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31).
In 2 Corinthians 2:14 Paul said that God always (not sometimes, not occasionally, not once in a while) causes us to triumph in Christ. How much comfort the Lord has given to us! He said, "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life" (Revelation 2:10). We are more than conquerors through him that loved us, says Romans 8:37.
Christianity is a system that will work under any emperor or any form of government. When somebody says, because of bad influences around me, I cannot live the Christian life, don’t you believe it. In certain places it might be extremely difficult, but Christians can be Christians anywhere. Call upon the Lord for help when your faith is threatened; lean upon Him. If Paul and others could endure all they endured, if those mentioned in Hebrews 11 could remain faithful in spite of all that was hurled against them, then the Lord is telling us that regardless of any terrible situation, any turmoil, any pandemic or any struggle, Christians can be Christians.
Word Affirmation: If God be for ME, who can be against ME? – Romans 8:31 (Don't just say it, mean it!)
“Christians can be Christians anywhere. Therefore, it is NOT what you claim but what you show. Shine forth in the midst of gross darkness.”
