ABIDING IN CHRIST

ABIDING IN CHRIST

In John 15, Jesus teaches that He is the vine and we are the branches. To live a fruitful Christian life, we must abide in Him, for apart from Him we can do nothing. Abiding in Christ means maintaining a close, personal relationship with Him, staying connected through prayer, the Word, and obedience.

In the Old Testament, the imagery of a vine is often used to describe Israel’s relationship with God. In Isaiah 5, God refers to Israel as His vineyard, but they failed to produce good fruit because they did not remain faithful to Him. Jesus, however, provides a new way: by abiding in Him, we can bear much fruit.

Abiding isn’t a passive act but an active, ongoing commitment to walk in fellowship with Christ. When we remain in Him, our lives will naturally reflect His love, joy, and peace, producing fruit that glorifies God and blesses others.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to abide in You daily. Keep me close to Your heart and guide me in all that I do. Let my life bear fruit that glorifies You, and help me to remain steadfast in my relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Word Affirmation: “ And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.  - Isaiah 62:2 KJV" (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“Abiding in Christ is the foundation of a fruitful life; without Him, our efforts are empty, but with Him, we bear eternal fruit. "
