TOPIC: 64463 – A CALL TO GOD
TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 30:7-8
MEMORY VERSE: "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not" - Jeremiah 33:3

What do you do when you are stuck? Dial God’s number! Have you seen some organization telephone numbers, sometimes it come in alphabetical order like 0800 – EMPOWERED? The alphabetic represent the names of such companies and you too can dial the right number when in trouble: OH GOD! That’s 64463 when you want to press it on your phone. Funny, right! This is to just let you know that God is nearer even more than your phone. What do you do when you don’t know what to do? You pray! It may be difficult to lift up your voice at such a time, but your inner man is saying something, voice is it to God even in your silence. He hears! At times when God is not even listening to the Holy Spirit, the same cry to God, “Abba Father” – Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6 . Your silent cry means a lot to God; He heard that of the Israelites and delivered them from the house of bondage (Exodus 3:7). He will deliver you, you are never forgotten.

After David cried out his strength and there was no help in sight, he found an encouragement in the Lord his God. He requested for ephod from his priest and dialled God’s number. May you find a worthy priest to call on in the days of your trouble. There is a dependable priest, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” -Hebrews 4:14, 15, He is an High Priest and Bishop of your soul, call on Him and He will deliver you. “For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” - Act 2:21, Romans 10:13. If you have a fellowship with the Holy Spirit talk to Him to give you a way out of whatever challenge you might have find yourself.

When David called unto God in the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) through the use of ephod (Holy Spirit), the answer came from God the Almighty, “Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all”. God did not just answer David’s prayer. David prayed a targeted prayer; he understood the situation and asked for needed help. He did not beat about the bush. When you are approaching God for a particular matter focus on it and let it be your strong reason why you are going to Him at that moment. Talk to God as if you mean what you are saying and let Him know how tired you are about the situation. Leave the devil or household enemies aside at this time, address your God and He knows how to deal with whosoever or whatsoever. I see you victorious in this new month.

“What do you do when you don’t know what to do? You pray! It may be difficult to lift up your voice at such a time, but your inner man is saying something, voice is it to God even in your silence.”
