18 KEY LESSONS OF GENESIS 22 (8)
Lesson 13: The Lord provides a ram (Gen 22:13): What do you do when you are faced with life and the problems of life make no sense to you? You do what Abraham did. You do not try to make sense out of it. You depend on the faithfulness of God. Abraham knew that even if the knife went through the heart of Isaac God would resurrect him (Hebrews 11). Abraham dependence was in the faithfulness of God. God has already made provision for every situation, all what you need praying for is the supply. Your own responsibility is to have absolute faith in the faithfulness of God, His timelessness to bring to pass whatever He has promised. God is never bound by time; He’s timeless, everlasting and eternal. You are not getting old because you are waiting for God’s promises; you are getting old because you do not understand the Word of God. A renew mind will let you understand that you can command your body to behave the way you want because you carry the Word of God.
Abraham was ready to sacrifice his Isaac believing God can raise him up from dead. We might know God as a good God when the going is good but we will never known a great God until we experience His faithfulness in trial and His love in action. You need a personal experience and encounter with God, you must leave the ground of living on the testimonies of others about God to the land of having a personal encounter with your Creator. Don’t just know God, have Him. Until the unknown God became the God of Abraham, Abraham did not stop serving Him.
Is God your provider or you still having an alternative? Many of us are not experiencing the wonders of God because we are too calculative and too sensitive for God to handle. We struggle to do things for ourselves, many civil or public servants today are living by the money they stole from public treasury or from bribe collected from a contractor. The funniest thing is, these people often go to church to testify that the Lord made the provision. If people are not aware about the source of their wealth, God knows. We looked and touched upon many hills because we do not trust absolutely in the Hill of God. For the fact that Psalm 121:1 says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help” does not mean we must all look up to every hill around us, be it the hill of uncles, girlfriends, boyfriends, sugar mummies/daddies or businesses before we should know there is only one Hill where comes our help (Psalm 121:2). God declares, “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD”- Jeremiah 17:5.
Word Affirmation: “God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him." - Psalms 67:7 (Don't just say it, mean it!)
“We might know God as a good God when the going is good but we will never known a great God until we experience His faithfulness in trial and His love in action.”
