YOU’RE JUMPING TOMORROW

TOPIC: YOU’RE JUMPING TOMORROW
TEXT: GENESIS 41:25-46

After Blessing Okagbare initially failed to qualify for the final at the 2008 Olympic Games, she said, she dreamt of winning a medal. At the preliminaries she was placed 13th and only the first twelve would be admitted into the final round. She said, she cried bitterly for not making it to the final. She was still crying when she got back to the hotel and entered into depression. The next night, she had a dream that she was called up to jump and got a medal thereafter. She called her coach to relay her dream but her coach told her it was just imagination. But that evening, as she was mentally and physically tired, she heard the team’s technical director calling her and said, ‘get ready, you’re jumping tomorrow’. One of the twelve athletes has been disqualified for testing positive to a banned drug, she did not just jump in the final, she won a bronze medal and nine years after, her initial bronze medal was upgraded to silver after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) discovered again that one of the athletes had a positive test for another banned drug.

You are jumping tomorrow too only if you can believe in God and dream again. Joseph was a man sold, forgotten, buried and mourned for, even when he was still alive. He had a dream of a great future, but at aged 17, his own brothers, those who knew about his dream, sold him into slavery even though God was with him. He was charged to the prison at the age of 28 for an offence not committed and at the same time forgotten by the man he helped to regain his freedom. But one day, his prison uniform was changed and replaced with Prime Minister Attire; Joseph never knew he would become a prime minister even as at the time he was asked to come to the palace and when he even interpreted the king’s dream, but suddenly his story was changed and was now jumping in the king’s palace.

No matter what you are facing, it may look as if the more you pray the more the battle, you are jumping tomorrow, and there is always an end to every journey, glory at the end of story. Anything that has a beginning must have an end. Your tomorrow is sure, God said, I know the thought I have towards you: thought of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). That vision will surely come to pass, only if you can hold on. Like that athlete, your coach, mentor, family and people around may not believe in your vision, just hold on, you are jumping tomorrow. Your concern is to prepare and begin to plan your glorious future.

It was not just dream that brought Joseph into the palace, first he had a dream, second he understood his dream; he lived his dream even when in bondage; third, he could interpret people’s dream and finally, he could provide solutions to the interpretation of a dream. Don’t just have a dream, develop solution too. You might be contributing to building lives, people’s businesses and your organization without any commendation, note this, you are jumping tomorrow. Your time will come and your glory will shine. NEVER RELENT!

One important thing that made Joseph to jump too is the presence of God in his life; God was with him the Bible says. He was favoured by God and was in the plan of God, remember, God told his grandfather Abraham that his children will sojourned in a strange land, Joseph was the beginning of the fulfilment of that prophecy. If you have God with you and you believe in His words, you will surely have a last laugh. You have a glorious future; don’t be deceived to turn back against God. God is in your every move.

Word Affirmation: For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock - Psalm 27:5 (Don't just say it, mean it!)
