Ye Shall Find

Ye Shall Find
In John 21:1–6, after the resurrection, several of Jesus’ disciples returned to fishing. They toiled all night but caught nothing. As dawn broke, Jesus stood on the shore, though they did not recognise Him at first. He asked them, “Children, have ye any meat?” They answered, “No.” Then He said, “Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find” (John 21:6). They obeyed, and the net became so full of fish that they could not draw it in. This event echoes an earlier miracle in Luke 5, reminding the disciples that life without Christ—even when skilled—is fruitless, but with His direction, abundance flows.
This moment teaches us that divine instruction leads to divine provision. The disciples were experienced fishermen, yet their efforts yielded nothing until Christ guided them. “Ye shall find” was not a suggestion—it was a prophetic certainty. It speaks to anyone labouring in vain or struggling to see results despite diligence. Jesus teaches that success in life, ministry, or work comes not only from effort, but from obedience to His word. The shift from emptiness to fullness happened not because they worked harder but because they obeyed the voice of the risen Christ.
For believers today, this speaks volumes. We often cast our nets based on past methods, logic, or personal strength. But the key to breakthrough lies in recognising Christ’s voice and aligning our actions accordingly. Sometimes, the solution is as close as the other side of the boat. When Christ says, “Ye shall find,” it means the provision is already appointed—our part is to trust and obey. When we seek with faith and respond with obedience, we always find more than we hoped for. His word never returns empty.
Word Affirmation: “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” - Psalm 34:10 (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
"Where human effort fails, divine instruction succeeds; at His word, we find what we seek."
