When Jesus Walks Beside You

When Jesus Walks Beside You
Life can feel like a long road-full of questions, sorrows, and waiting. But what if Jesus was walking right beside you the entire time? That’s what happened to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. They were confused, disappointed, and talking about everything that had just happened in Jerusalem. Yet, Jesus came near and walked with them. He didn’t interrupt with power or glory; instead, He asked them gentle questions and listened. This is how Jesus still comes to us-quietly, compassionately, and personally. He walks with us through grief, doubt, and even daily chores, never forcing Himself, but always present.
When Jesus walks beside us, He brings clarity and comfort. These disciples didn’t realise it was Him, but His presence warmed their hearts. Many of us miss Him because we expect a grand miracle. But Jesus walks with us through every step: in hospital rooms, at office desks, during moments of joy, and in seasons of pain. He listens to our concerns and reveals His truth in due time. Our eyes might not always see Him, but our hearts will know. Like the disciples, we may say, “Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way?”
Walking with Jesus turns ordinary paths into holy ground. We are not alone-never have been, never will be. Even when you feel uncertain about the future or burdened by life’s weight, remember that Christ is beside you. Let that truth change how you view each step. Talk to Him as you walk. Share your thoughts. Let His presence change your perspective. The road is not just about where you’re going, but who is walking with you.
Word Affirmation: “Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.” (Psalm 73:23) (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
"You may not always see Him, but when Jesus walks beside you, your heart will recognise what your eyes cannot."
