WANTED! JESUS IS MISSING

TOPIC: WANTED! JESUS IS MISSING
TEXT: LUKE 2:41-52

Anyone who thinks they are standing strong should be careful that they don't fall. Assuming that all that goes to church or that “nameth” the name of Christ are genuinely born again and for God, what do you think this world will look like? A Heaven on Earth, Alas! It has been otherwise, hell on earth. No more Christ in Christopher, or does Christiana has anything to do with Christianity. It is a great error in our world today that hardly you know a genuine Christian, something that was easily seen in Antioch those days. Today, Jesus is missing even when you think it among the people of God.

Every year, as a practice and as commanded (see Exodus 12; 34:23), Joseph and Mary usually go to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of the Passover, this was to commemorate the exit of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery, when God "passed over" the houses of the Israelites during the last of the ten plagues. Jesus had been with them for twelve years and this particular year, they travelled to the temple with Jesus, unfortunately for them, after the celebrations, they forgot Jesus behind; Jesus was missing in their life. They only travelled for just a day after the so called celebration unto God; they checked their lives and realized they no longer have Jesus. Haba! Do you go to God to miss Jesus? God forbid! Oh, they thought to themselves, if we no longer have Jesus, then we can still find Him among our families and friends, but they looked for Jesus thoroughly among these folks but to their greatest surprise, families and friends had no Jesus in their lives. Jesus had no place in them until they went back to the temple where they left Him. How did we arrive at this junction? All of us travelled together to Jerusalem to celebrate God but none of us is having the centre of the celebration, the reason for the season.

Is Jesus missing in your life too? You can only find Him where you left Him, not anywhere, but in the temple. He has been knocking the door of your heart and wishing that you will open up unto Him. He has been answering questions ranging in the temple of your heart and life, only that you have not given your life unto Him. Majority of the believers are full of activities in churches today but Christ is still missing in their lives. Great multitude are rushing to the church today, but never known that a day’s journey they took away from Jesus (in their sin) may lead to days of restlessness and if not eternal damnation if they do not go back to where they left Jesus. He is still there, waiting for you that you will come back to Him. Will you? When Jesus’ parents eventually found Him, they had great increase in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. If you too want to experience great advancement, you must turn back to Jerusalem, turn to Calvary and cling to the Old Rugged Cross. Is Jesus still missing in your life? Go find Him now, tomorrow may be too late. Like Jesus’ parents, you may not know that Jesus is no longer with you, not until you look at your life critically. You have no excuse.

Word Affirmation: That He would grant ME, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man - Ephesians 3:16 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“Is Jesus missing in your life? Return to Jerusalem, turn to Calvary and cling to the Old Rugged Cross. He will accept you back to His fold.”
