TOPIC: TIME TO TURN
TEXT: 2 CHRONICLES 7:13-14
MEMORY VERSE: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from
their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles. 7:14
From the Garden of Eden till the present generation, men have messed up. While acknowledging the efforts of all the medical practitioners and emergency workers at this time, their efforts can only be effective if God is involved. Skills, wisdom and power has failed, therefore, what the world need at the moment is a total turn to God Almighty. It is time to turn to our Creator, humble ourselves and tell Him we have goofed. We have sinned and He will surely show us mercy. If the world thinks there is a solution, the virus will ravage us till death but if we turn to God, He will be kind to us all.
Acknowledging God at anytime will always bring God’s presence and intervention, your role at this moment is to acknowledge the leadership and rulership of the sovereign God over your life, your nation and the world. God is God whether you acknowledge Him or not, but you need Him more now and therefore, invite His presence in humility to intervene in the affairs of the world. Pray that His Kingdom comes.
He told King Solomon, if He shut up heaven that there is no rain, or if He commands the locusts to devour the land, or if He sends pestilence among His people; which is normal to God when He want to bring His people to order. But if “His people”, not everybody now, the people of God, those who trust Him as a Father, that bears God’s name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will He hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
What you need to do as a child of God is to humble and repent from your sins. Sin whether personal or national destroys, forgiveness is necessary to save you and our nation from the inherent destruction that sin brings. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, forest fires, floods including coronavirus are events that are generally looked at as natural disasters, which they are, but God allows them in order to get our attention. As a nation we have turned from God, we are guilty of all kinds of national sins, we are worshipping the gods of pleasure, politics, fashion and sex and the thought of righteousness and God are openly ridiculed daily on radio and television.
To put an end to all these calamities in our world, we must humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then God will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land. For the Israelites, there were many times that they turned their backs to God, rebelled against His commandments and worship other gods. The results were always disastrous. When a nation forsakes God, God forsakes the nation. They ultimately were conquered by other nations and went into captivity. But as a people or as a child of God, if we or you can seek His face through His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, this plaque will be over. We shall not experience the wrought of God any longer; it is devastating if we seek His face not and pray. Have a wonderful day.
