The Things Concerning Christ

The Things Concerning Christ
The journey to understanding “the things concerning Christ” begins on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24. Two disciples, heavy with sorrow after Christ’s crucifixion, walked away from Jerusalem, uncertain and perplexed. Jesus drew near to them, yet they didn’t recognize Him. As He walked with them, He opened the Scriptures, from Moses to the prophets, explaining how they all pointed to Himself. This moment reveals that to understand Christ, one must begin with the Word—because He is the Word made flesh. His life, death, and resurrection were foretold, and every page of Scripture whispers His name.
What is powerful here is that even the disciples who followed Him closely did not understand these truths until Christ Himself explained them. It took divine revelation for their eyes to open. And when they recognized Him in the breaking of bread, their hearts testified to something deeper: “Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32). This is the spiritual awakening that happens when we shift from head knowledge to heart revelation. The things concerning Christ are not only historical facts—they are eternal truths that ignite faith and joy in the believer’s soul.
Therefore, our Christian walk must be centred on the things concerning Christ—His mission, His suffering, His resurrection, and His call to repentance and remission of sins. Without Him, Scripture remains a closed book; with Him, it becomes a living testimony of grace. As He opened the understanding of the disciples to the Scriptures (Luke 24:45), so He still does today by the Holy Spirit. Let your heart be on fire for Him, and let the message of Christ shape your understanding of everything.
Word Affirmation: “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” - Psalm 119:130 (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
"The Scriptures are unlocked when Christ is revealed. Without Him, they remain sealed; with Him, they set the heart ablaze."
