THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (2)

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (2)
As we yield to the Holy Spirit, He begins to conform us to the image of Christ. This transformation is a lifelong process known as sanctification. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to resist sin, grow in holiness, and live in a way that pleases God.
The Holy Spirit also empowers our prayer lives. Romans 8:26-27 tells us that the Spirit helps us in our weakness, interceding for us when we do not know how to pray as we ought. Sometimes we are faced with situations so overwhelming that we do not have the words to express what we need. In those moments, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, praying according to the will of God.
Prayer is not merely a religious duty; it is a powerful means of accessing God’s strength and guidance. When we pray in the Spirit, we align ourselves with God’s purposes and experience His power working in and through us.
The Holy Spirit also gives spiritual gifts to believers, enabling them to serve the body of Christ and carry out God’s mission in the world. 1 Corinthians 12 lists various gifts, including prophecy, healing, wisdom, knowledge, and discernment. These gifts are not given for our own benefit but for the building up of the church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
Each believer is given at least one spiritual gift, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to use these gifts effectively. Whether it’s teaching, serving, leading, or encouraging, the Spirit enables us to serve in ways that bring glory to God.
If we are to live victorious Christian lives, we must learn to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit rather than our own strength. Too often, we try to carry out God’s work in our own ability, only to become discouraged and weary. Jesus reminds us in John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Word Affirmation: "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." – Psalm 23:6 (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
"The power of the Holy Spirit is not just for witnessing, but for transforming every area of our lives."
