THE MIND OF CHRIST

THE MIND OF CHRIST

Having the mind of Christ means adopting His attitude of humility, servanthood, and obedience. In Philippians 2, Paul urges believers to have the same mind as Christ, who, though He was in the form of God, did not cling to His divine privileges but humbled Himself by becoming a servant, even to the point of death on the cross (Philippians 2:5-8).

Jesus’ humility was a radical departure from the world’s view of power and greatness. He did not seek to be served but to serve others, exemplifying true leadership through self-sacrifice. In the Old Testament, the suffering servant in Isaiah 53 foreshadows Christ’s ultimate act of servanthood, bearing our iniquities and offering Himself for our sins.

To have the mind of Christ is to choose humility over pride, obedience over selfish ambition, and service over self-glorification. It means laying down our rights and desires for the sake of others, just as Christ did for us.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to have Your mind—a mind that seeks to serve, to love, and to obey. Teach me humility, and help me to put others above myself, as You have done for me. May my life reflect Your character and Your heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Word Affirmation: “ I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.   - Psalm 52:8 KJV" (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“To have the mind of Christ is to see greatness not in being served but in serving others, even when it costs us everything. "
