REVIVAL IN YOUR HEART (2)

TEXT: JUDGES 6:11-13
MEMORY VERSE: “And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.” – Judges 8:23

To understand today’s lesson, please read, “Revival in your Heart (1)”; this is the continuation. God blessings as you read.

When Gideon caught the fire from Jehovah, the man who did not see himself as a mighty man of valour is now leading the armies of Israel; he defeated the host of the Midianites and won the battle for the Lord. He became a ruler in Israel and turned the Israelites to God of their Fathers. The difference between lukewarm individuals and the hot ones is their hearts. What is your heart panting after? What is your heart calling for?

If there will be any revival in our days, our hearts must be made for God, and we must take up responsibility. You and I must be desperate for God to come. We must be ready to test what we are told and let God know that we are not taking anything less than what we have read in the Bible and even the greater works we must do. We must first make the study of the Word of God our priority to understand the heartbeat of God for our generation. Second, we must assure God that everything will be for His glory; third, we must have unwavering faith in Him, that if we perish, we perish, no matter what people are saying; fourth, we must wait and stay in the place of prayers and fasting and let Him know, there is no one else, no other alternative. We must demonstrate this attitude, “after God is God, after Him is Him and nothing else”, then He will appear in our situation and show up where necessary. But if you still have hope or alternative in your business, in sugar daddies/mummies, in your children, jobs, etc you will never experience the True, One and Only God.

This is the time to cut the fire of revival; this is the season that our hearts must be burning for God. My daily attitude has been to read twenty (20) chapters of the Scriptures daily in addition to reading of Christian articles and other materials. Before now, I read five chapters of Psalms for each day making 150 chapters of Psalms in a month, one chapter of Proverbs daily to make the 31 chapters of the Book of Proverbs for a month. This I do day in day out and every month. It made me to discover that one can read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation under 67hours. You too can be this better and together we can sustain the tempo and like Gideon who in his days brought down the hands of God. If at the end of the Coronavirus Pandemic, we did not see God in our generation, it will be a great disaster.

Beloved, at this time, adhere strictly to the plans laid down by Christian leaders to stay indoor, then use this period to do retreat, get closer to God and study His words. Develop your own message, show the pastor in you to your family and demonstrate the love of God to your neighbours. I see revival happening if all of us use this stay at home order well. We will be happy again; the love for God, His house and other believers will grow again in our hearts and like Gideon, you and I will not be preaching about the God will read or told, we will be talking about God will personally experienced. We can then give firsthand information to our children’s children. What a glorious thing it will be to tell your children that at a time when one useless virus ravaged the world, you stood in the gap with other believers and you see heaven opened and saw God on the throne as He command the wind from His presence to blow away the plague. May this happen in your lifetime. Heaven will bow to you and honour your words in Jesus name (Amen).
