TEXT: JOEL 2:18-27
MEMORY VERSE: "And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise
the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you:
and my people shall never be ashamed " - Joel 2:25-26
For as many that were left behind after the ever-dreadful COVID-19 pandemic, we ought to thank God and rejoice again for coming to live our normal life. Now, you realized going to church is a great grace, going to work is God’s mercy, your immediate family is a wonderful blessing that has ever happened to you, for during the lockdown nothing matter except life. You now know why they called people on hospital bed, patient; it is not easy staying on one spot for weeks or months doing nothing. So thank God for life.
It does not matter what you passed through during the lockdown and indeed, does not matter what will be the effects of the long stayed at home on the nation economy and your finances. The Heaven over our nations is thick, thanks to the prayers of the saints and great mercies of the Lord that turned death to life. Though the virus ravaged the entire world, did not even spared the holy lands, but here we thought whether the virus is real or not. It can only be God.
Nevertheless, reports coming out daily from world experts and governments are not good news at all, many of them are talking about recession, many people have lost their jobs and there may be no hope for many; but never listen or internalize any report, God has promised He will restore. If they couldn’t predict the coming of COVID-19, how come they are predicting the future? Only listen and obey the Word of God (talk the Word, Walk the Word and behave the Word), the Word has capacity to do anything, do not forget, “by this time tomorrow”.
The Word of God has the final say on anything and I believe you know. God is jealous about you and He has promised to restore to you the years the locust has eaten. This prophecy in the Book of Joel had been written more than 6,000years, so if God promised to restore the years the locust has eaten and you claimed the promise; the question you need to ask is, “If the locust has NOT eaten anything, what will God restore?”
Therefore, it does not matter what you have lost in this year, everybody want this year to go so as to start year 2021 on a fresh note but as God liveth this year shall be your best year. This year shall be the beginning of all years for you and your entire household. It is God that rules and controls the affairs of men, it does not matter if you did not get anything from your government, God’s Kingdom is more than enough. The only thing you need doing is to key yourself into the Word and have absolute faith in Him, for God's promises are real answers to the prayers of faith, because with Him (God) saying and doing are not two things. He will restore, He promised. Let’s continue tomorrow.
“He will restore, He promised, therefore have absolute faith in what the Word promised and not what the world predict.”
