INTEGRITAS (5)

TOPIC: INTEGRITAS (5)
TEXT: DANIEL 6:1-28
MEMORY VERSE: “My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.” – Daniel 6:22

Daniel was a perfect man in a strange land, the Bible says, men who ruled the world at the time sought to find occasion against him concerning the kingdom but found none; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him – Daniel 6:4. Believers are called to the highest of morals, principles and standards. We cling to doctrines but grapple and struggle almost constantly with living lives of integrity. Christian command to integrity is a command to both talk and walk in the way of Jesus. “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” That definition of integrity calls us to walk in the path of Christ, and to steer clear of hypocrisy.

For many people, a life that matters seems to mean important meetings with important people making important decisions. However, this is not the life to which God calls many of us. To be sure, there are some who are called by God to do important things with integrity, but many of them have mistakenly equated goodness with greatness. And that can lead to a life or ministry where someone knows all the right things to say, do, or write to gain a following, but everyday life isn't really impacted. Ever since as a nation, we have been battling with corruption and bribery, these permeate every institution and community; hardly will you see a transaction without a label of corruption in it. Today, many people doubted many testimonies because one does not know what the testifier did to get his/her testimony.

Daniel was thrown into the den of lions but he came out unhurt because of his innocency and integrity with God and man. The king trusted Daniel to the point that he couldn’t sleep. Are you a (wo)man that can be trusted? Do you give bribe or your body to get to the position you are now? Better to repent now, the day of judgement comes and no one will be spared. Daniel’s day of judgement came and his innocency set him free.

I challenge you today to live a life of integrity and become a (wo)man that Heavens and earth can boldly say, behold, a Christian indeed, in whom there is no guile! I live you with Psalms 37:37, “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.”

Word Affirmation: "And God said unto him, I [am] God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins." - Genesis 35:11 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“ Christian command to integrity is a command to both talk and walk in the way of Jesus.”
