INSTRUCTION DELIVERS FROM DESTRUCTION (1)
God found Noah a man of integrity in the midst of a degenerated world. The thoughts of man (his own set of instructions) are evil continually and when God could not bear man’s sinful deeds, he made a plan to destroy the world and all that was therein at that time. No matter how bad the world may be, God will still find His own. Are you His? The Lord found Noah among the multitude in the world as an upright and just man and decided to save him from intended destruction coming over the world. An upright man will always have and live in God’s secrets. While others are perishing, uprightness is saving Noah and his household. Righteousness exalts, but sin, a reproach. Are you upright or you are still hiding under no one is clean, pure or perfect?
Noah was not just saved because he was found faithful; he was saved because he also obeyed all the instructions given to him by God. Remember, it was not that God stood before him as an object; he heard a voice behind him and recognized it as the Voice of God. Likewise many of us today have heard the voice of God many times over and never recognised Him until we ran into one trouble or the other. God asked Noah to build an ark and gave him the specification, Noah built according to pattern. God told Noah rain is coming upon the earth, he could rather choose to believe because there has not been any rain upon the earth before this time. Rivers from the Garden of Eden had been what people known to water the earth, so where was this rain coming from? But that was what God wanted to do. Before rains of destruction comes atmosphere of instructions.
Noah shouted for about 120 years but no one listened to him, eventually, the rain of destruction came and no one was saved except Noah, his family and obedient animals. The men in Noah’s generation failed to hearken to instructions and were destroyed, but ordinary animals followed Noah’s instructions and were saved. If there is anything you need to cry out to God for, it is that God should give you instruction. The difference between where you are and your desired destination is the instruction yet to receive. The glory of God did not just appear in the temple during the time of Solomon, it appeared because the Israelites departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures (2 Chronicles 8:15).
Similar words for instruction include order, command, directive, direction, decree, mandate, commandment, charge, guide, specification among others. Instruction is what MUST be done and cannot be abandoned. There is life in instruction and death in being ignorant of it. Any man who ignores instructions is a destruction waiting to happen. Solomon warned, “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life” – Proverbs 4:13. Saul lost his kingdom on the account of ignoring God’s instruction. Your obedient must be total, disobedient and delayed obedient are dangerous to life and you must move far away from them. No man receives a reward for disobeying higher authority. Do you want to prosper in life and deliver your family from poverty and want, ask God for instruction and obey same to the letter?
