HAPPINESS, YOUR NEXT NEIGHBOUR

Nothing like, thou shall not celebrate. God want His children to be happy and expect the shout of joy in our tabernacles. I remember threw the bucket away when I heard Nigeria equalizer in a football match in 1989, we went for big celebrations, beating drums and dancing round the town. I came back about three hours later sweating like Christmas chicken and now, the young boy is hungry. I stood at a distance looking at the situation of things, on a normal day, there should be punishment for such act but those that my grandma could employed to discipline me were also caught up in the celebrations. At the same time, it was a thing of joy as everybody in the community was so happy. The bucket did not break as it was made of aluminium; the only punishment was that my yam was not pounded; I ate it as normal yam with palm oil, the painful part of my celebration.

When was the last time you give away yourself to celebrate the faithfulness of God and your victory in Christ? The Bible say, only the shout of joy shall be heard in the tabernacle of the righteous. When was the last time you shout Halleluyah? Every time you sing Battle Hymn of the Republic, are you the only one going through problem? As a child of God, happiness must be your next neighbour, even in season and out of season, you can still look out for what to thank God for. God bought you a car, the next thing people hear from your car are worldly music, continue, God will soon deal with such. I threw away the bucket because something great genuinely happened, but lot today cannot share their testimonies with great joy, the source cannot be explained. You don’t collect a gift from your boyfriend and come around to tell the congregation that God has blessed you. No, that’s not God’s blessing; our Father who art in Heaven will not spare His rod. You will be dealt with. But the little that God has done for you must be greatly appreciated and celebrated so that he can do more.

Create an unforgettable experience when you are blessed by God and document the date in your diary. Many easily forget about how God was there for them because they never have a record book of testimonies or of events. David could praise God in different ways because he knew how to call the faithfulness of God to heart. If you start praise and thanksgiving prayer now, how long will you last? And you claimed you do not know why your prayers are not being answered, it is in your attitude to praise and thanksgiving. Always be grateful for little things. You will not eat your pounded yam as ordinary yam. If you don’t understand that prayer, it is as if you were served ordinary white rice and stew at a party while others were given fried rice and assorted. May you find happiness as next neighbour.
