GOD’S PICTURE OF A FRUITFUL CHRISTIAN (2)
GOD’S PICTURE OF A FRUITFUL CHRISTIAN (2)
To understand today’s lesson, read God’s Picture of a Fruitful Christian (1). The tree is a picture of a believer, the taproot of whose soul is in contact with Jesus and who is therefore sharing His life and bearing His fruit. A fruit-bearing Christian has learned how to thrust the taproot of his soul into contact with the divine resources and draw from God the nourishment needed regardless of time, place or circumstances – Isaiah 37:31.
God established priorities for (fruit bearing) trees, not in how they use their time but how they take in nourishment. Priority 1 – if only a small amount of nourishment is available it is used to sustain the life already in the tree (cannot produce fruits, it leaves look fresh and green). Priority 2 – when nourishment is available over and beyond the need to sustain life already in the tree, the tree grows in all directions – upwards, downward and outward (no fruit still and never mistake growth with fruitfulness. Growth is just a sign or assurance that such a tree (life) will produce fruit one day). Priority 3 – when the needs for supporting the live already present and the need for growth have been met, and there’s still more nourishment available the third priority comes into operation. If there’s an abundance of nourishment over and above that needed to sustain life and provide growth, it is transform into fruit (Luscious, sweet taste).
Fruit is the overflow, the surplus, the excess of life of the nourishment taken into the tree over and beyond that is needed for life and growth (of the tree). Next time you hold an apple in your hand, you can say, this is excess life which overflowed after the tree’s need for nourishment and growth had been met. So, in every life, life-sustaining and growth needs must be met before overflow of the love of Christ, the life of Christ turns into fruit. Your need for growth and development must first be met before you become fruitful (abundance life) to others.
Before you cry again for fruitfulness, ask yourself, have I attained these three priorities? Don’t kill yourself in ignorance, life is in stages and it is important to understand the stages you are in, even as a Christian. People are destroyed due to lack of knowledge, so do not perish in ignorance; understand the stages of life you are in, you will thank God better. If you meet the first two conditions, you will definitely become fruitful. Grace to become fruitful will come upon your life in Jesus name, amen. Good morning.
