DIRECTORS WITHOUT DIRECTION (6)

The T in DIRECTION stands for THOUGHTFULNESS. What are you concern with? You become your focus. You must be able to think things through before you act on them. Romans 12:2 asks us not to be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of our minds so as to prove what is good, acceptable, perfect, and fulfill the will of God. Your eyes must be fixed on what you are doing and you must give it a thought before you act. Be mindful of happenings around you and relate it with your goal. Set your face like a flint and believe you will get your results. If you give a thought to happenings around, it will help you to know whether you are on a wrong lane, to turn back or to move forward. You become what you focus on. What you focus on can change your DNA. Jacob changed the DNA of those brown animals by mere white strakes because that was what the cattle were seen at the time of mating (Gen. 30:37-39). Don’t forget, you become your thought.

The second I in DIRECTION stands for IMAGINATION. The LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do - Genesis 11:6. Whatever you imagined, the picture you hold, what you see you will surely become. Your image is your direction; you cannot grow outside the image that you have already formed in your mind. You cannot be seeing point A and expect to end at point B. Yesterday’s knowledge alone will not suffice. Imagination is essential for anyone, especially for leaders, who not only have to lead people into the future but have to foresee the challenges not yet known that await mankind. Visualizing an object or a situation, and repeating often this mental image, attracts the object or situation we visualize into our lives. This opens for us new, vast and fascinating opportunities.

The O in DIRECTION stands for ORGANIZATION – You must be able to coordinate your daily activities, organize yourself, arrange and manage your life in such a way that people will love to copy you. Queen of Sheba travelled a far distance to visit King Solomon and observed his excellence and wisdom. There is wisdom in organization, you cannot live a fulfilling life without time management, set a calendar of events and write down what you need to do daily, you will be more productive. David was equally organized and able to transform 400 vain men to mighty men in Israel. People are observing the way you do things, children, young people and subordinates learn more by observation; if you are not organized, you are destroying the future of people around you.

Word Affirmation: “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man." - Psalm 43:1 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“You become what you focus on."
