Christ Revealed in All the Scriptures

Christ Revealed in All the Scriptures

After Jesus’ resurrection, He appeared to two discouraged disciples walking to Emmaus. They were confused and unsure about what had really happened. Then Jesus did something remarkable-He explained the Scriptures to them, showing how everything, from Moses to the prophets, pointed to Him. The entire Bible, though written over centuries by many authors, tells one great story: the story of Jesus. Every page, every law, every prophecy, and every promise whispers His name. When we read Scripture with Christ at the centre, our understanding grows, and our hearts come alive.

Many read the Bible as a rule book or a history text, but it is so much more-it is a revelation of Jesus. In Genesis, He is the promised seed. In Exodus, the Passover Lamb. In Psalms, the Good Shepherd. In Isaiah, the Suffering Servant. And in the Gospels, He walks among us, full of grace and truth. When we seek Jesus in the Word, we don't just gain knowledge-we encounter a living Saviour. As the disciples later said, “Did not our heart burn within us?” That burning is the Spirit awakening our hearts to the truth of who He is, hidden in plain sight throughout all Scripture.

The Bible is not just a book to be read-it is a voice to be heard. And in it, Jesus speaks. Every chapter has something to say about His character, His purpose, and His plan for us. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes as you read, just as He did for those disciples. You’ll find Jesus on every page, revealing Himself not only through words, but through the Spirit of truth. When you read the Bible looking for Jesus, it becomes more than a text-it becomes a meeting place.

Word Affirmation: “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” (Psalm 119:130) (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)

The Bible is not a collection of stories-it is one story, revealing Christ from beginning to end."
