CAST DOWN BUT NOT DESTROYED (2)

TOPIC: CAST DOWN BUT NOT DESTROYED (2)
TEXT: ROMANS 8:28-39
MEMORY VERSE: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

Towards the end of the year 2019, the Lord told me the year 2020 is His year; therefore, on the first day of the year, I declare year 2020 to be the Year of God, even up to that moment I still did not understand why God would say this year is His year. I have high expectations as a person and like previous years I wanted to declare year 2020 to be year of so and so; but God came to say it is His year. By today, I think I understand why He said Year 2020 is the Year of God. The happenings in the world are overwhelming and consuming but thanks to God for His faithfulness and love, even though we are perplexed, not in despair.

Today’s world is at its kneels begging for God’s mercies, death toll from Coronavirus is more than 37,000; the children of God were not spared, the churches of God are under lock and keys, enforcement officers are ready to destroy to achieve their goals, but one thing is sure, we are overcomers and it will be for our good. Do not be discouraged, the end is not yet and if God be for you, who can be against you? God is with you now and always, He that spared not His only begotten Son, He allowed Him to die, therefore, what can He not give freely, the answer is nothing. The one that has the power to pronounce that you are guilty is God, but the same God justifies you. The person that supposes to condemn you is Christ but presently sitting at the right side of God interceding for you. Rejoice, for the battle is not yours.

Beloved, God is nearer and He is with you. But I will not have you ignorant, we are at war and the war is against principalities and powers hence life may be overwhelming most times. If you look at the Book of Romans 8:31-39, you will realize that we are not fighting against “what” but against “who”. All what the writer of Romans 8:35 listed are personalities and can break any child of God with their powers: tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword is real and confronts believers daily but thanks to God who had given us victory over them. God giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31).

Try as much as possible to move closer to God this year and if you look up to Him, He will lighten your face and will never be put to shame. Wait for Him and you will never be put to shame, I assure you.

“Do not be discouraged, the end is not yet and if God be for you, who can be against you?”
