CAN YOU LOOK INTO THE FUTURE?

TOPIC: CAN YOU LOOK INTO THE FUTURE?
TEXT: LUKE 14:28-32

A wise person will plan (ahead) for the New Year, you do not get into the New Year before you start planning; the way many people behave in the New Year is to have a list of prayer points and by crossover night, pray and affirm positively. To some extent this is good for a (wo)man who had prepared his/her journey for the New Year. Before the end of each year and before you enter into the new one, you must take stock: where are you coming from? Where are you going to? What did you do right in this year? What did you do wrong? Did you achieve any of your goals? Then, you look into the future and plan, set your goals for the New Year and by cross over night, before and after, you pray your mind unto God, not otherwise. Infact, you do not pray before you plan, you plan before you pray.

Several people enter into the New Year with a blank heart even though they pray a lot, ask their expectations for the New Year; they cannot answer in clear terms. This is wrong! You must know what you want in life; you cannot enter the New Year aimlessly and expect to be celebrated in the course of the year. Jesus Christ the Master asked, “which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” Jesus admonished His disciples to “Watch and Pray”; watch first, follow by prayers. Beloved, what are the things you want to achieve in the New Year? You need to retreat and find a noiseless place to hide and think about your future. Will this direction of yours lead you to a prosperous destination that you will be happy and thank God you came to this world? Check, consider your ways. Have a plan, a goal and set actions to achieve it.

Proverbs 21:5 says, “Careful planning leads to profit”. The thought of the diligent leads to abundance, if you are a genuine child of God and you have Holy Spirit in your inside, you will not lack God’s thought (plan) for your life. You need to look into the future with God. When Abraham was childless, he told God one day that I go childless, and you have not given me an heir. God in response took him into the future (Genesis 15), He said to him, “Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.” Beloved, if one’s heart in blank; such will have a blink future. What are you seeing concerning your life? If you cannot see anything about next year, do not expect anything in return. Elijah was only told about a small dark cloud, he exclaimed, “I saw an abundance of rain”. If you continue this way, can you have your desire future? If you are satisfied with your present condition and level, do nothing then; but remember, a problem do not look like problem at the initial stage. You must act now to save yourself from future embarrassment.

God is not saying you should not plan, as a wise child, you only need to plan and commit it unto God; He’s faithful and just to bring it to pass. But for you to go into this New Year without any plan, hope or aspiration will be too disastrous. Get a pen, a notepad, create time and go somewhere to get your future on paper. Look into the future, what do you see? Become it!

Word Affirmation: “And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name." - Isaiah 62:2 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“If one’s heart in blank; such will have a blink future."
