18 KEY LESSONS OF GENESIS 22 (13)

Lesson 18: The Journey Back Home (Genesis 22:19): Remember what Abraham said to the young men that travelled with him, “I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you” – Genesis 22:5. How did Abraham know Isaac will come back with him? Abraham did not allow the trial to weigh him down, in his tribulation he said, we are coming back when indeed it was only one person that suppose to come back. He returned home at the end of his journey with everlasting covenant, eternal blessings, overwhelming victories, unspeakable joy and divine settlement. The Bible says, “He dwelt in Beersheba”. It was not long before he made an agreement with Ahimelech because he was been troubled on every side by the Philistines, but now he could settled down permanently. Beersheba was not sure for Abraham before, but now the entire land became his; he had a home, a land, a nation to return to, the one he could called his own and he settled down. No more troubles (read Genesis 21:22-34).

Be rest assured that you are not dying in whatever situation you find yourself in, no matter the difficulties. Weeping may endure for a night, joy come in the morning. Abraham returned home with joy and won the test of becoming not just a father of Isaac, but a father of many nations after good and solid 25years. Jacob escaped from Padanaram after 20years, even though leaping into his real destiny; Esau shredded hardship even though he lost his birthright and blessing to a deceiver and Joseph became a prime minister after 17years of suffering and persecutions. Our Lord Jesus rose from the dead after he was crucified on the account of sins He never committed and many more practical examples of people in the Bible and in this world who came out of their tribulation victorious. So who told you, you are not coming out of your situation strong. Beloved, you are coming out better and victorious. Believe the Lord your God, hold on to His words and promises, it will not be long that you enter into your glorious destiny. It is just around the corner. It will surely come, Amen (1 Peter 5:10, Psalm 126, 2 Corinthians 4:7-18).

But also remember, it was only two young men that went with Abraham and stood with him throughout the journey. In your trial, people will fail you and you would not believe who will be there with and for you. Never rest on the shoulder of men or make men your help, rely on God absolutely and trust Him totally and you will have rest for your soul. God bless you.

Thank you for standing with us in the series, I hope you have learnt great lessons. Remain blessed.
