THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME (3)

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME (3)

Restoring Sight to the Blind

Throughout His ministry, Jesus performed many miracles, including restoring sight to the physically blind. But this also speaks to the spiritual blindness that affects so many people today. The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, preventing them from seeing the light of the Gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4).

The Holy Spirit gives us the power to open the eyes of the spiritually blind, helping them to see the truth of who Jesus is and what He has done for them.

Setting at Liberty Those Who Are Bruised

Finally, Jesus came to set at liberty those who are bruised. This refers to those who have been oppressed, mistreated, or marginalized. The bruises of life can leave deep wounds, but Jesus came to bring freedom and healing.

As followers of Christ, we are called to continue His mission of setting people free from the things that hold them back, whether it’s sin, shame, fear, or past hurts. The Holy Spirit empowers us to bring hope and freedom to those who are hurting.

The same Holy Spirit who anointed Jesus for His mission is available to us today. We have been empowered to preach the Gospel, heal the brokenhearted, set captives free, and bring light to those in darkness. Let us walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, fulfilling the mission that God has given us.

Word Affirmation: "The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more." – Zephaniah 3:15 (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, empowering us to continue the mission of Christ."
