Scripture as a Key to Recognising Jesus

Scripture as a Key to Recognising Jesus

Many people search for God through feelings, signs, or personal experiences, but one of the most reliable and profound ways to recognise Jesus is through Scripture. On the road to Emmaus, Jesus didn’t introduce Himself immediately through a miracle—He revealed Himself through the Word. He explained the Old Testament, pointing out how every part was about Him. Only after the Word was opened did the disciples begin to see Him clearly. This teaches us that the Bible is not just a book—it is a key. And when used rightly, it unlocks the identity of Jesus.

Every book of the Bible holds a piece of the puzzle. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture testifies of who Jesus is—His character, His mission, His love. The more you read the Word with an open heart, the more you begin to recognise Jesus in your life, even in ordinary or painful moments. You begin to understand His ways, His voice, and His promises. The more familiar you are with the Scriptures, the more aware you become of His presence. You stop asking, “Where is God?” and start seeing that He’s been with you all along.

If you want to recognise Jesus more clearly, return to the Word. Read it daily, not just for information, but to know Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you Jesus on every page. He will reveal Him in prophecy, in parables, in promises, and in power. As the Scriptures unfold, so will your awareness of Christ. And in that awareness, there is strength, peace, and the fullness of joy.

Word Affirmation: “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” - (Psalm 119:130) (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)

"The more you open the Scriptures, the more Jesus opens your eyes."
