Help Comes from God

Help Comes from God
The human journey is fraught with challenges that often leave us weary and in need of divine assistance. Psalm 121 begins with a crucial question: "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help?" The answer is immediate and definitive—"My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2). This declaration affirms that divine help is not sourced from earthly institutions or human ingenuity but from the Almighty God who governs the universe. Unlike man, whose abilities are limited, God is both omnipotent and ever-present, ensuring that those who call upon Him are never abandoned.
The psalmist further elaborates on the nature of God's help, stating that He neither slumbers nor sleeps. This truth reveals the ceaseless vigilance of the Lord over His people. Many look to the world for security, but true safety lies in the hands of God, who is the eternal keeper. He shields His own from harm, providing guidance and sustenance amid trials. The imagery of the Lord as a "shade upon thy right hand" (Psalm 121:5) depicts His closeness and protection, signifying that even in scorching seasons of life, His covering remains over His people.
Thus, believers must cultivate a posture of unwavering faith in God’s help. Rather than seeking fragile human solutions, our confidence should be placed in the One who has sovereign authority over all things. When adversity strikes, we must remember that divine assistance is neither delayed nor insufficient—God is our refuge, our stronghold in times of need. His help is certain, unwavering, and perfectly timed.
