GO WITH HIM TWAIN
GO WITH HIM TWAIN
Jesus' teaching on going the extra mile is a call to sacrificial love and service. In the culture of Jesus’ time, Roman soldiers could compel civilians to carry their burdens for one mile. Jesus, however, urges His followers to go beyond what is required—to go two miles. This attitude of grace and generosity reflects God’s love, which always surpasses human expectations. When we go "twain," we demonstrate a willingness to serve others with humility, putting their needs above our own.
This principle challenges us to overcome selfishness and resentment, living a life of radical kindness. Think of the second mile as an opportunity to shine the light of Christ. It’s in the second mile that love overflows, patience matures, and God is glorified.
Word Affirmation: "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." – Genesis 1:28 (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
"True greatness lies in the willingness to do more than is expected, reflecting God’s grace in every act of service."
