AND HER COUNTENANCE WAS NO MORE SAD

Annually, it is the practise of this family to go worship the Lord in Shiloh, every year Hannah would return home sad. However, in this particular year, she changed her strategy, worship God in prayer; worship is not singing of songs, solemn or any other kind; worship involves praying, sacrifice and service. And there is need for you to understand so that you will not like the Ethiopia Eunuch worshipped in vain.

We do not know how Hannah had been performing her worship, but this year, she prayed differently. Her form of praying caught the attention of the chief priest of the time who came and pronounced the Word of God on her: “Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him”. And the Bible says, “And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.” Hannah this year had allowed the Word of God to settle her, notice, she had not giving birth to any child but at this moment she believed she had conceive by the Word. When the name of Hannah was next mentioned, she has been settled with a child. Such shall be your story this day. No matter your petition, I come in the name of the Lord and I say to you, “Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of Him”.
