BEHAVING LIKE CHRIST’S SHEEP

Maybe if you know the stuff the sheep is made of, you may then love to be like one. The Psalmist once a shepherd himself said, a sheep fear no evil though it walks through the valley of the shadow of death. A sheep walk straight for so many reasons including knowing that a shepherd is always there and again, it cannot die from poisonous attack. If a snake bite a sheep, though it hurts and the place may swell up, such sheep is not going to die from such attack. For anti-venom is made from sheep’s blood, you can now see why God want you to become His sheep. You are not dying from any form of attack. God said in His words, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” - Mark 16:18. Christ’s blood in you is your protection; you are born by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Sheep are not meant to carry burdens. You will never see sheep carrying a pack on their back. Other animals are good for carrying things, but not sheep. They were not meant to carry a heavy load. That’s why Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” - Matthew 11:28-30. Therefore, for every time you turn your burden on yourself you live outside His pastures. You are not meant to bear any cross except the Cross of Christ which is light. “Cast your burdens on the Lord, and He will sustain you” (Psalm 55:22).

Just like sheep, a Child of God has no direction without the good Shepherd which is Christ, Children of God (His sheep) lack protection except with the shepherd, and were never meant to carry any burden whatsoever. No child of God can make it alone without God. We are God’s valuable and the symbol of great blessing and prosperity. Oh, that we would take a lesson from sheep and run to the Good Shepherd who will lead us to the spring of living waters and take care of us forever and know our value as one who is priceless to Him. Hear God: “For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land... “ - Ezekiel 34:11-16 ESV.

Word Affirmation: “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake." - Psalm 23:3 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“ You are not meant to bear any cross except the Cross of Christ which is light. "
