REAL LIFE

Real life is not found in things, but in other values. God will provide all things necessary to life if we seek first His kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33). People are more important than things. The things that are not seen are more important than the things that are seen (2 Corinthians 4:14). There is a way to be rich toward God, to have investment in heaven. Paul outlines the use of things for the glory of God in 1 Timothy 6:17-19). We can use things for good and make friends, as Jesus said, by means of the mammon of unrighteousness (Luke 16:9-11). The Lord was not robbing the rich young ruler when He told him to go and sell all he had and give to the poor. He closed his remarks by saying he “would have treasure in heaven.” The value in things rightly used is that a rich storehouse is ours in the eternal tabernacles. The Lord does not take from man to make him poor, but to make him rich!

There is no way we can serve God and Mammon. But we can serve God with Mammon. Here are the ways we can please our dear Lord with our earthly goods and possessions:
Never put things ahead of Him.
Spend wisely, never forgetting we are stewards.
Share prayerfully.
Give sacrificially, willing to communicate, ready to distribute.

The ultimate standard of value of anything is if it lasts. All things are to perish. At the last day, the world and all things therein will be burned up, the heavens will be rolled up as a scroll, and the elements will be dissolved (2 Peter 3:10, 11). In his book The Uncrowned King, Harold Bell Wright wrote,
Eyes blinded by the fog of things cannot see truth
Ears deafened by the din of things cannot hear truth
Brains bewildered by the while of things cannot think truth
Hearts deadened by the weight of things cannot feel truth
Hearts choked by the dust of things cannot speak truth.

It was necessary long ago, through the prophet Jeremiah, for the Lord to tell His people about the danger, transiency, futility, and effect of things on life and values, and how things can be rightly used: Thus saith Jehovah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he hath understanding, and knows me, that I am a God who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight saith Jehovah (Jeremiah 9:23, 24).

Word Affirmation: “ And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen." - Revelation 18:2 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“ The value in things rightly used is that a rich storehouse is ours in the eternal tabernacles. The Lord does not take from man to make him poor, but to make him rich! "
