DO NOT LOOK AT HIS APPEARANCE (2)

David became a king not because of what he did on earth but what he did within his heart. He recognized God, ready to do the will of God even when no man in sight and would behave like God, for he never entertained any iota of fears. The condition of your heart determines the condition of your life. Your thought process determines your product(s) in life. The summary of your life can be traced to the content in your heart. However, you can change your life by changing the content and context of your heart. Men may look at your handsomeness and beauty to grant you audience and favour you in return, but never will God look at your face to change the course of your life, He will rather look at your heart. No one can tell what was going on in the heart of Eliab and his brethren before Prophet Samuel came. What would make God to reject them as kings? Eliab never thought there was a problem, everything was fine with him, he celebrated festivals in Jerusalem every year, he served in the army, he was the first born and much closed to the chief commander in Israel’s army but his heart was far away from God his maker.

There is no way I can look into your heart, and there is no way you can look into my heart. In the end, it becomes a matter between each one and God. What kind of shape is my heart in? What shape is your heart in? Here are some heart-searching questions that may help us to know: 1. Has worship become little more than a formality for me? 2. Is prayer a series of meaningless words for me, just lip-service? 3. Does God seem strangely distant, out of touch with my needs? 4. Have I become so occupied with externals that I have neglected the Source of it all? 5. Have I exalted my will above the authority of God and His Word? 6. Is wickedness being tolerated in my heart and life - maybe even being cultivated? 7. Have I stayed this way so long that I do not even care? Is my heart becoming harder and harder? Think once again about that hollow muscle that pumps blood throughout your body. All physical life is wrapped up in that little muscle. Now imagine the Bible heart, the source of your spiritual life, being diseased. Spiritual death is sure, unless you do something about it with God’s help.

God can take your hardened, diseased heart and massage it back to life. The blood of Christ can cleanse your heart and make it pure again. However, it starts with a surrender. Will you surrender yourself to the Lord? If you have not been baptized into Christ, why not do that today (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38)? If you need to be restored to the Lord, now is the time (Acts 8:22, 23; James 5:16).

Word Affirmation: “For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee." - Isa 30:19 (Don't just say it, mean it!)

“ You can change your life by changing the content and context of your heart. "
