THE WORK OF PRAISE

When God restored man through Jesus Christ, He did so as to enable man to fellowship with Him. When the Disciples came to Jesus to teach them how to pray, Jesus gave a pattern and started with, “Our Father who hath in Heaven, halloweth be thy name”. The work of praise is to reveal the true sense of God and what He has done. The work of praise means the believers have absolute trust in God the Almighty, Paul and Silas were dumped in the prison not because they committed any sin, they were doing the work of salvation, they were sent to baptize all nations and in the process, they ended up in Jail. A layman will look at it some other ways but the two had a different attitude, they were to pray and at this time, they added praise and God came instantly.

Praise reveals the Almightiness of God, it enables God to act in time and empower the man who praise. You must make praise and worship part of daily routine. Paul would later admonish all believers to thank God always; he had experienced the work of praise and can boldly advise his audience to arm themselves with weapon of praise. Paul and Silas set themselves and other prisoners free with just praise; you too can deliver yourself from bondages if you can praise God. Take a good look at those who praise or worship God, have you ever seen them living a low life, never! Why? Because there is a raise in praise.

Until people praise God the earth will never yield her increase, until men grow the habit of gratitude, God will never send His blessing upon the earth (Psalm 67). Is there hunger in the land or in the family? It may be that such a nation, family lack praise. Where praise is available, there you will find prosperity, increase and blessing. “Let the people praise thee, O God! Let them have matter for praise, let them have hearts for praise; yea, let not only some, but all the people, praise thee,” all nations in their national capacity, some of all nations. It is again repeated (Psalms 67:5) as that which the psalmist's heart was very much upon. Those that delight in praising God themselves cannot but desire that others also may be brought to praise him. May every man bring his music, every citizen his canticle, every peasant his praise, every prince his Psalm. All are under obligations to thee, to thank thee will benefit all, and praise from all will greatly glorify thee; therefore, O Lord, give all men the grace to adore thy grace, the goodness to see thy goodness.

Word Affirmation: “ Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us." - Psalms 67:6 (Don't just say it, mean it!)
