Redemption Through His Blood

Redemption Through His Blood

We live in a world where many feel trapped, by guilt, addiction, fear, or even the opinions of others. But Colossians 1:13 - 14 reminds us of a powerful truth: we have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and brought into the kingdom of Jesus Christ. This isn’t just a change of location, it’s a change of ownership, authority, and identity. God didn’t just rescue us from trouble; He transferred us into a kingdom ruled by His beloved Son, where light, love, and righteousness reign. In that kingdom, we are not defined by our past, our failures, or what others think. We are citizens of heaven. Jesus has full authority over us, and in His kingdom, freedom is not temporary, it is eternal.

This transfer was not without cost. Verse 14 tells us that it came through redemption, the buying back of something that was enslaved. And how was that price paid? Through His blood. The blood of Jesus is not a symbol, it is a spiritual payment for your soul. His sacrifice on the cross satisfied every demand of justice. If you’ve ever felt unworthy, ashamed, or unsure if God truly forgives you, remember this: your forgiveness is not based on how sorry you feel or how much good you’ve done. It is based entirely on the blood of Jesus, freely offered for you. Through His blood, we are no longer held captive to the powers of darkness. The chains are broken.

Living with this understanding should change how we see ourselves and others. We are redeemed people, bought, cleansed, and freed. And because we’ve been forgiven, we must also forgive. Because we’ve been shown mercy, we must walk in mercy. We no longer belong to the enemy, so we don’t have to live like we do. That means we can walk boldly, live righteously, and stand firm when temptations or accusations come. When Satan reminds you of your past, remind him of the blood that paid for your future. You are not who you used to be, you are redeemed through the blood of Christ, forgiven completely and eternally.

Word Affirmation: (Psalm 107:2, KJV) "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)

Personalise: I am redeemed, forgiven, and free. I belong to Christ and live under His victory.
