Hospitality that Reveals Heaven
Hospitality that Reveals Heaven
Hospitality is more than offering food or a place to sit. Sometimes, it becomes the space where heaven touches earth. The disciples on the road to Emmaus didn’t recognise Jesus at first, but when they invited Him in and shared a meal, everything changed. As He broke bread with them, their eyes were opened. It wasn’t in a temple or dramatic moment - just a simple act of sharing a meal. Jesus revealed Himself through ordinary kindness. That’s what hospitality can do - it makes room for Jesus to show up in surprising ways.
We often think we need big miracles or grand settings to experience God. But the truth is, He meets us in small, humble spaces - in living rooms, around kitchen tables, during simple conversations. When we open our homes and hearts to others, we create an atmosphere where Jesus can be seen. You may not realise it, but your kindness could be the very thing that helps someone encounter God. When you welcome others, especially in times of need, you’re living out the heart of Christ.
So don’t underestimate the power of opening your door or your life to others. Be present, be kind, be real. Your act of hospitality might be someone else’s breakthrough. And as you serve, don’t be surprised if you discover Jesus right there with you - revealing heaven through your ordinary act of love.
Word Affirmation: “And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity... And the Lord shall guide thee continually...” (Isaiah 58:10-11) (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
"Simple acts of hospitality often become sacred moments where Jesus is revealed."
