Complete in Christ

Complete in Christ
In a world that constantly tells us we’re not enough, “not smart enough,” “not successful enough,” “not spiritual enough”, Colossians 2:9 - 10 brings a refreshing and liberating truth: you are complete in Christ. Verse 9 says that in Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. That means Jesus isn’t just a reflection of God, He is God in full. He is not lacking in power, wisdom, or authority. And then verse 10 gives a life-altering statement: “And ye are complete in Him.” That means everything you need to live a godly, victorious, and purposeful life is already available to you through Jesus. You don’t need to chase completeness through people, possessions, or performance, Christ is your source, and in Him, you lack nothing.
To be “complete” doesn’t mean life will always feel perfect or that we’ll never have struggles. It means we have been made whole in our spirit. We are no longer broken or empty on the inside because of Christ’s presence. His Spirit fills the voids that sin and pain once created. Your identity is now rooted in Him, not in your past, your job, your relationship status, or your achievements. This completeness comes from union with Christ, not from external success. That’s why you can walk in confidence even when life is tough. When Jesus lives in you, heaven’s fullness lives in you. You don’t need to work for God's approval, you already have it in Christ.
So how should we respond to this truth? With thanksgiving, with rest, and with boldness. When you feel discouraged, remind yourself: “I am complete in Christ.” When others try to define your worth, remember: “My identity is settled in Him.” You no longer have to strive to prove your value, He has already called you worthy. Let this truth shape your choices, your self-image, and your relationships. You are not incomplete, waiting for something to make you whole. You are full of Christ’s life, covered by His righteousness, and empowered by His Spirit. Live from that completeness, not as someone trying to earn God's love, but as someone who already has it in full measure.
Word Affirmation: (Psalm 34:10, KJV) "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing." (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)
Personalise: I lack nothing in Christ. I am full, loved, and equipped for every good work.
“You don’t have to search for what you already carry, Christ in you makes you complete.”
