Turning Back to Share the Good News

Turning Back to Share the Good News

The two disciples had just arrived in Emmaus, tired from their journey and weighed down by sorrow. But once they encountered Jesus, everything changed. Even though it was late, they didn’t stay where they were. They turned back. Why? Because good news couldn’t wait. When your heart is full of the truth that Jesus is alive and real, you can’t keep it to yourself. You go back-back to the people who need to hear, back to the place where hope once seemed lost.

The beautiful thing about turning back is that it transforms you from a receiver to a giver. Jesus doesn’t just meet us for our comfort-He meets us so we can go and comfort others. The two disciples didn’t just return with a message-they returned with proof: “We have seen Him!” You, too, have experienced moments of God’s faithfulness, healing, direction, or peace. Those moments are not for storage-they’re for sharing. Somebody near you is still in confusion, still waiting for hope. You carry something they need.

So don’t be afraid to turn back. Go into conversations, places, and relationships where you once felt helpless-but now go with the good news. Jesus is alive. He still walks with people. And He still opens eyes in the ordinary. Your return may be the reason someone else begins their journey toward faith. That’s how the gospel spreads-one person turning back to share the good news.

Word Affirmation: “And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people…” (Isaiah 12:4) (KJV) (Don't just say it, mean it!)

"When Jesus opens your eyes, He also opens your mouth-to go back and speak life."
